5. Exactly I don’t know…Perhaps Dr Lanyon because he didn’t want to help his friend Dr Jekyll when he discovered the real identity of Mr Hyde and so the effect of Dr Jekyll’s potion.

ANSWERS FROM CINZIA B. WHO READ THE WINTER'S TALES by Shakespeare

1) Yes, I did. I really like Shakespeare's writing style.
2) I enjoyed the book because I like all the romantic comedies, especially the English ones.
3) This book is dramatic and sad because it's about jealousy and lies. A man thought that his wife betrayed him with his best friend. So, when he came to know that she was pregnant, he ruined her life in many ways. Hermione, Leontes wife, gave birth to Perdita and died. When this girl became a woman, she had a very difficult love relation with Florizel, ended happily with a marriage. The end of the story is happy because Hermione returns to life: in fact she was not dead, but just turned into a statue.
4) My favorite character is Perdita, Hermione and Leontes's daughter, born in prison and grown up with a difficult childhood in Bohemia. As a girl, she falls in love with Prince Florizel, son of Polixines, which plans to marry her. She's the heroine of the book.
5) I didn't like Leontes at all. He was the king of Sicilia and lived with his beautiful wife Hermione. He was an incredulous man that never put faith in his wife: I also think that he was cruel because, at the idea of a treason, condemned her to prison.
6) I would like to compare Leontes, King of Sicilia, to Polixenes, King of Bohemia. They are opposite because Leontes is impulsive and cruel, and Polixenes is loyal and sincere.
7) I think you should read it because it's full of interesting English typical expressions. This book can be instructive and funny at the same time.

ANSWERS FROM DANIELA BIANCHI WHO READ I, ROBOT by Isaac Asimov

  1. Did you like the book? Why?

I really liked the book because it’s a science fiction novel and I like this typology of books.

  1. How do you describe the book?

I, Robot is a collection of nine English language science fiction short stories by Isaac Asimov. The stories are woven together as if Dr. Susan Calvin is telling them to a reporter in the 21st century. Though the stories can be read separately, they share a theme of the interaction of humans, robots and morality and when combined they tell a larger story of Asimov’s fictional history of robotics. Several of stories feature the character of Dr. Susan Calvin, chief robopsychologist at U.S. Robots and Mechanical Men Inc., the major manufacturer of robots. The story presenting the stories as Calvin’s reminiscences during an interview with her about her life’s work, chiefly concerned with aberrant behaviour of robots and the use of “robopsychology” to sort them out. The book also contains the short story in which Asimov’s famous Three Laws of Robotics first appear. The Three Laws of Robotics are:

1. A robot must injure a human being, or allow a human being to come to harm;

2. A robot must obey the orders given by human beings unless they conflict with the Fist Law;
3. A robot must protect itself as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

3. Who is your favourite character?

My favourite character is Dr. Susan Calvin because she is a really strong and intelligent woman, even if she is really cold.

4. Who is the worst character?

I don’t find a bad character in this book because in this book all the characters are set in a key position, all are in the story for something that their character express at better.

5. Can you compare two of them?

The journalist is useful for the reader in order to involvre him in the story and Dr. Susan Calvin is needed to tell this story.

6. Write a sentence for another student starting with these words: “I think you should/shouldn’t read this book because…”

I think you should read this book because it’s very interesting for a person who like science fictions and thrillers and, of course, isn't scared of robots!
